She Scrapz.....

Yes I am scrapping again....yay......and its all because of Scrapz.

I have wanted to get involved for awhile now but our crappy internet followed by  months of limbo followed by two moves in 3 months, doesn't really encourage scrapping......plus boxes of stuff to go through lol. Anyway we are finally settled, proper internet going on this week (fingers crossed) and I have nearly organised my space. YAY again.

Scrapz has organised a comp called Location Location. The challenge this week was what is on your screen. Cool huh. Seeing I would not normally scrap about this, I think it is a cool thing to look back on to know what crap stuff I watched!!! ha So here it is, I wasn't super happy with it, but I used up some old paper/embellies I had sitting around & I scrapped, so I am happy with that!!!

The Journalling reads - My Escape - Favourite Shows - The Mentalist, Survivor, Bones, Sons of Anarchy, Castle, Cops, Blue Bloods, Army Wives........Its so funny I used to hate TV & could not sit still for longer than 1/2hr and I limit what the girls watch. In the last 2 years I have found it is my little escape. I put the girls to bed & either watch it on my own, scrap & sew, or Ant and I have our shows we watch together. It is relaxing if not a little brainless. Ha

Have an awesome week, will be back with some more shares soon!!!

Easy Chocolate Scrolls.....

So here goes.....I thought it might be fun to share recipes....I have always baked/cooked and love doing it but now being home am always looking for cheaper, yummy recipes.....I cannot say it will help you lose weight but they are nice for a winter afternoon and quick....the girls love them.

Depending on how many you want to make/eat? lol. I used 4 sheets of pastry (if you are martha stewart you can make your own pastry, but I am a bit lazy).

Ingredients
Puff Pastry (I just used the cheaper coles brand but pampas works well and for all the Americans, crescent roll pastry would work great too, wish we had that here!!!)
Nutella or a hazelnut spread (you can put anything you want into these really, last week I made them with apple/sultanas & nuts)

Defrost the sheets of pastry and cover them in nutella (excuse my photography using my phone at the moment)

Roll them up

Cut them into about 2 inch lots sideways

Put them on a try and squash them down a little so they look like scrolls (well sort of look like scrolls, don't fear they do look great when they come out)

Put them in the oven  for 20 mins and voila.........hot, scrumptious chocolate scrolls

(I also dusted them with this new vanilla bean dusting powder I found).....

Have them with a cup of coffee or chai. Lovely for a cold winters afternoon.

* Note this recipe is from a friend of mine, not sure where she got it from??

Loving People Who are Hard to Love.....

May I never be one of these people. This week I was amazed at how much I learn when I am teaching the girls. We have this great devotional that we work out of each week. This particular day its topic was this...."loving people who are hard to love".....

In Matthew it says "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be Sons of your Father in heaven." How hard is that. To teach your children you have to live it yourself. I have been definately challenged with that over time. Sometimes people can be rude, very rude. As long as we live here on earth, we will face countless opportunities to lose your temper when other people behave badly. God has a better plan: He wants us to forgive people and move on.

For some reason I struggle with moving on. I have this in built feeling of obligation and responsibility to fix everything. Maybe if I just do this or this, God I will help. I am slowly learning that I will make mistakes, lots of them, but I cannot stay in the same place. I have to forgive myself and if another person can't forgive me, then dust off my feet and move on, it is not my problem. We can only control our own actions/decisions not someone elses.  Wow what a hard lesson to learn as, as women we are built for relationship. I do not like loss of relationship. I am learning that not everyone will like me, appreciate me or have time for me and that's ok.
It is up to me to choose who & how I spend my time. I have three sets of little eyes watching me and how I do it. Sometimes I don't want to be the bigger person and apologise, (I was being honest in love), but you know what, as sometimes being the bigger person doesn't give you any satisfaction , there is satisfaction in knowing that my heart is right before God and I have done everything I can to set things right.

Just some thoughts on that. Have an awesome day.

PS did I tell you we LOVE homeschooling. Yes some days it is hard and I miss shopping & doing lunch & having time to myself, but the positives way outweigh the negatives!!!!!

Its been awhile....

I know I know I haven't blogged.
Guess moving across country and limited service/internet does that, plus I was deciding whether I would just fade blogging. I keep up on facebook so it just seems like another thing, plus I am pretty private so was questioning whether I would keep it up. People who are close to us know what is going on, but people have been nagging me, so lets see how I go. Hopefully I will find a balance.

It has been pretty hectic since we moved here to tell you the truth, the thought that we would idly sit by each day & relax has definately not happened. LOL. So much to catch up on.

We are settling in slowly to the way of life up here. It is different but has many positives.

Here are some shots from the rodeo. It is one of the biggest in Australia. The girls had lots of fun. We went with a new friend that I have met up here who also homeschools. She is amazing and has been an incredible blessing to us. I won't post photos of all the kids together as I haven't asked her, but here is some of the girls.
They rocked the rodeo watching calf roping, barrell racing, bull/bronco riding and of course the all important fairy floss. LOL. They were impressed by the "girl" cowboys, as they called them!!!

Compliant child letting me take a photograph.......

 Typical Liv shot....
A pre-teen never wanting her photo taken.....(thought I still had a couple of years)......

And Moi.....

Will be back soon to share some more photos and whats been happening around here. We have moved into a permanent house and once our damaged/lost stuff is dealt with we will make it feel more like home. Might even be able to have some creating time soon. YAY.

The Big Move....

I tried to find a photo that showed the vast expanse of land that we travelled over to get to here.
It started as a normal day, get up have breakfast, get packed, celebrate Lulus birthday, go pick up hire car, say  our goodbyes to family, drive to Brisbane, get some lunch....go through security......lol
first problem. We are heading through security, now remember we have a lot of stuff packed into 3 suitcases, a camera bag, two laptops, a handbag, the girls each with a backpack......a lot of crap basically and trying to get through to get everything checked in (as Qantas in their wisdom have gotten rid of customer service and everything is self serve now)......so we are going through security after asking the girls 3 times probably more, do you have anything in your bags, like water, scissors.....I am like they are kids what would they have in their bags......WELL through the xray and Lucia gets pulled over..... conversation.

Lulu do you have anything in your bag????
No Mama, just toys....
Security Guard " Maam do you have scissors in your bag?? to Lucia like she is an adult??? I need to check your bag.
meantime Ant and I are looking at each other going WTH?? Lucia again do you have anything in your bag.....at this point she is getting quite upset and scared. No Mum.
So the security Guard pulls out scissors, not just 1 pair of scissors but 3 pairs of scissors.....what the???
Our little bower bird Lucia!!
Me to Lucia "Lucia why do you have scissors in your bag???
Lucia "I thought I might need them Mum!!" Ant and I just shook our heads and laughed and cuddled her crazy kid. That was the start to our little jaunt.

So we are flying over hundreds of acres of land with NOTHING......I mean literally nothing.......there were some mountains and then just land with not a house in sight. Ant and I looked at each other and said to each other "what the heck have we done".....

The beginning of our adventure. Back soon.
